Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters Host ARC Supply Chain Event

Saint John, New Brunswick – Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) is hosting the ARC Canada Supply Chain Event focused on the next phase of the design and development of the New Brunswick based ARC Canada Supply Chain. This event will provide progress updates and assist companies from New Brunswick and across Canada in understanding how to participate in this growth opportunity. This event will discuss timelines, vision, integration and inform participants on the necessary steps to be included on the ARC Canada approved vendor list.

“Since 2018, ARC Canada has been laying the groundwork for a sustainable manufacturing supply chain based out of the Province of New Brunswick” says ARC Canada President & CEO, Norman JD Sawyer. “This webinar event is designed to engage manufacturers and I would invite the industry across New Brunswick, the Atlantic Provinces and Canada to participate. It is truly an exciting opportunity.”

ARC Canada is currently in the process of gathering manufacturing information to continue its analysis in building a “best in class” supply chain. The deployment of the ARC Canada proven clean energy technology, that deals with waste, to jurisdictions in Canada and around the world not only creates meaningful well-paying jobs, but also provides an important part of the solution to deal with climate change. With re-building challenges ahead in our economy, environmental solutions for clean, baseload energy, offer opportunity. New Brunswick has key components for success to take the lead in the advanced Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technology field resulting in a more wholistic Pan-Canadian nuclear industry.

“Manufacturers in New Brunswick and beyond have what it takes to become valuable supply chain partners in the development of the Small Modular Reactor Supply Chain,”

states Ron Marcolin, CME Divisional Vice President. “CME and its valued members, of all shapes and sizes, are very committed to the development of this once in a lifetime transformational industry,” Marcolin continues, “New Brunswick and Canadian manufacturers have the distinguished history of building world class, high quality products as their skills are second to none.”

Developing and deploying the ARC Canada units will requires a diverse set of industrial competencies. However, the simplicity of the design, and the non-nuclear nature of some parts of the manufacturing, expands the opportunity to many companies not currently part of the nuclear industry supply chain. As stated by ARC Canada President & CEO, Norman JD Sawyer “The establishment of ARC Canada’s manufacturing partners through existing industrial capabilities in New Brunswick and Canada will be the key to the company’s success.”

Various speakers such as senior government officials, senior NB Power officials and the President & CEO of ARC Canada will discuss the growth opportunity in this emerging manufacturing sector. The webinar event is open for registration to manufacturers on Tuesday, November 24th, 2020.
