Technical Writer

Position Overview

The Technical Writer for ARC Canada will be responsible for providing support to ARC Canada through Microsoft Office skills to format engineering documents and renderings. The Technical Writer will ensure that continuity within the Management Systems is maintained with regards to standard for all internal documents. 

Key Responsibilities
*Format engineering documents and drawings within the standards
*Ensure compliance with Management Systems and ARC Canada document standards
*Maintain electronic Document Management System while staying current with changes to the technologies and standards
*Review and identify problems with documents based on regulatory requirements and requested changes
*Collaborate with employees to create proper format for engineering documents, business documents, company forms and drawings/graphs
*Maintain control over all internal, external and/or secure documents
*Act as Point of Contact for all document control
*Understanding of proper protocol for disposing of documents

Requirements:
• Community College Technical Diploma,
• 5 Years Experience in a Technical Writer role or similar
• Technical Background with preferred nuclear industry experience,
• Able to meet Reliability Level with Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS)

Senior Engineer - Civil / Structural

Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Chief Engineer, the Senior Engineer performs complex engineering assignments requiring originality, ingenuity and the development of new methods or resolution of design and safety objectives. Provides advanced technical support, guides and reviews the work of other team members. Typically leads the engineering design or investigates new designs for a project. The position lends engineering expertise for a multi-discipline team including reviews, progress and updates to management as needed.

Key Responsibilities
• Performs a variety of complex engineering assignments, typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of design tasks and resolution of design problems.
• Ensures compliance with government, organization and customer engineering requirements and standards.
• Evaluate, select, and apply various specialized techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgement to make more complex adaption and modification.
• Develops new or adapted products, methods, systems or models to provide added value solutions.
• Researches and assesses best practices, proposing methods and improvements.
• Works on special projects, as directed.
• Performs other related duties and tasks, as required.

Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering OR Engineering Technical Degree.
• 12 or more years of engineering experience (advanced degrees or relevant experience within the nuclear industry may be used as substitutes for experience).
• Professional Engineer designation in applicable Province and able to obtain designation within New Brunswick.
• Experience in the nuclear industry is an asset, especially sodium fast reactors.

The ideal candidate will have:
• Advanced knowledge of related nuclear specific engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
• Good communication skills, including the ability to comprehend and convey detailed technical data.
• Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
• Led Multi-disciplinary engineering teams and partners in complex designs.
• Ability to work autonomously
