The Canadian Nuclear Society Invites ARC Canada Chief Engineer to Discuss Technology Progression

Saint John, New Brunswick – On Thursday, June 24th ARC Canada Vice President of Engineering (Chief Engineer), Mr. William “Bill” Cooper, was invited by the Canadian Nuclear Society’s (CNS) local chapter in New Brunswick to discuss the organization’s technology progression.

The topics of the presentation included an introduction to the ARC Canada technology which is supported by extensive operating experience as a mature technology. In addition, Mr. Cooper spoke of the best industry practices ARC Canada is utilizing in its engineering and quality management. A technical overview was also provided relating to the inherent safety characteristics of the technology.

 

“We appreciate the opportunity provided by the Local Chapter in New Brunswick of the CNS to present the ARC Canada technology to an international audience. It also provided a great forum to highlight the many University of New Brunswick graduates joining the ARC Canada Team. As such, we shared the recent acknowledgement of International Women in Engineering Day with our latest new hire Ms. Rachel Kierstead, who recently returned to her home province of New Brunswick to continue her Engineering career with ARC Canada in Quality Management,” said Mr. Cooper.

 

Mr. Cooper has more than 35 years of experience in the Power Generation Industry in engineering and leadership roles. Mr. Cooper has held positions including Senior Project Manager, Director of Strategic Planning and Project Development, President & Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer. After spending an extended period of his career in Ontario, Mr. Cooper has returned to his home province of New Brunswick to develop in-province expertise with this new generation of inherently safe technology.
