Washington, D.C. – ARC Canada President & CEO, Norman JD Sawyer, will be speaking at the U.S.-Japan Roundtable in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, December 18th. The Roundtable was created to enhance cooperation between the two Nations to improve public understanding of nuclear energy and provide balanced information on nuclear technology and policy. The activities serve to improve business outcomes and expansion support resulting in safe and secure nuclear energy not only in the U.S. and Japan, but in emerging nuclear markets worldwide.

“It is an honor to be invited to speak at this Roundtable as this platform provides an opportunity for ARC Canada to share our progress and vision with representatives from international markets,” says Mr. Sawyer, “we are demonstrating, yet again, that New Brunswick is a policy leader by enabling the development of proven technology that is inherently safe, reduces emissions and deals with waste.”

In addition to the Roundtable discussion, Mr. Sawyer will also be attending the dinner honoring the United States Secretary of Energy, the Honorable Dan Brouillette celebrating his recent confirmation. Also, in attendance will be Deputy Commissioner Hirohide Hirai of Japan’s Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, METI. The dinner guests will also include dignitaries and speakers from both the United States and Japan.

After the affirmation by the government of New Brunswick, it is obvious the world has recognized ARC Canada as a leader in the SMR market. “This U.S.-Japan Roundtable in Washington is another example of how ARC Canada continues to promote the Province of New Brunswick as a place to do business,” says Mr. Sawyer, “ARC Canada has made its home here and is proud to be in this province to develop its proven technology and promote economic growth.”
